New to Bluetooth Headphones?

Here's how easy it is to use them...

Bluetooth Headphones iPhone Stereo AVRCP Before we begin, do you have iPod nano
or other non-Bluetooth music device?

If you do, JayBird offers a small Bluetooth adapter for you. You would skip step 1 and insert the Bluetooth adapter into your iPod (or other device) instead.

More

Step 1.

Bluetooth Headphones iPhone Stereo AVRCP For any stereo Bluetooth enabled device

Such as iPhone, other mobile phones & MP3 players:

1. Locate the settings screen
2. Then locate Bluetooth setup
3. Have it search for a new Bluetooth device

Step 2.

Bluetooth Stereo Headset apt-X Put your Bluetooth headphones into pair mode. Pair mode simply means search mode.

To put Sportsband into pair mode, push the center button for 6+ seconds until you see an alternating blue and red light.

Step 3.

Wireless ipod headphones Your music device will locate your Bluetooth headphones and display the name on screen. Example "SB2" for Sportsband.

Select the headphones and if prompted for a pass code, enter 0000.

Step 4.

Freedom Bluetooth Headphones When connected, your Bluetooth headphones status light will slow down and flash a very subtle dim blue color.

You are ready to listen wirelessly to your favorite tunes.

Step 5.

Bluetooth Headphones Launch the music player on your music device. On iPhone for example, it's the orange iPod icon.

Select a song and press play on your music device. You'll hear the music through your Bluetooth headphones.

You can use the remote command buttons on your headphones to play, pause, next track, back track, change volume and even answer calls. See your user manual for details.

Range indoors

Bluetooth Headphones If indoors, you can walk up to 10 meters (33 feet) away from the music device while listening to music wirelessly.

Range outdoors or at the gym

Bluetooth Headphones If outdoors or in large open spaces like a gym (where the Bluetooth radio signal cannot bounce of nearby ceilings or walls), you'll likely need your music device closer like in an armband on your arm. The orange area shown is the optimal reception range when outdoors.

Avoid blocking the signal between the music device and headphones with your body. Your body is mostly water which the Bluetooth radio signal cannot penetrate.

iSport Bluetooth Adapter for iPod & iPhone

iSport enables Bluetooth on iPod, and gives the option of apt-X CD quality audio on iPod, iPhone or iPad. More

To pair with Sportsband, plug iSport into your iPod, & begin with step 2 and skip straight to step 4 of the pairing instructions.

uSport Universal Bluetooth Adapter

Bluetooth Stereo Headphones The uSport Universal Bluetooth Adapter works with any device with a regular sized headphone jack (3.5mm). It enables Bluetooth on your device and even gives the option of apt-X audio quality with CD quality signal. It's very slim, designed to lay flat against your music device in your pocket or armband. More

To pair with Sportsband, Push and hold the uSport power button until you see a red and blue flashing light. Plug uSport into your music device, and begin with step 2 and skip straight to step 4 of the pairing instructions.

JayBird products offer apt-X,
CD quality audio over Bluetooth

APTX focuses on two very simple principles:

1. Acoustical integrity
2. Low latency

apt-X has been associated with professional audio applications for 20 years, with over 20,000 radio and TV stations worldwide, broadcasting content with the help of apt-X.

Integrating apt-X into Bluetooth headphones delivers pristine CD quality audio and a more fulfilling user experience. It does this by more efficient compression and decompression than standard SBC Bluetooth. It needs less bandwidth and avoids the typical packet loss which causes white noise and loss of audio quality. More on apt-X

apt-X Bluetooth Stereo Headphones

So what should I purchase?

I don't have stereo Bluetooth (often called A2DP) on my music device

Use a JayBird Bluetooth adapter. iSport for iPod, and uSport for everything else with a 3.5mm headphone jack. Not only will you get
bass-rich Bluetooth music, but you'll also step up to apt-X CD quality audio. Sportsband will switch to apt-X mode automatically.

So what should I purchase?

My music device has stereo Bluetooth, but it doesn't have apt-X

Great, the Sportsband Bluetooth headphones will produce a bass-rich Bluetooth music experience with your music device using your standard Bluetooth connection. You can purchase the Sportsband alone for that, or you can upgrade your music device's Bluetooth signal to apt-X CD quality with one of the two apt-X enabling adapters. iSport for iPhone/iPad/iPod, or uSport for anything else with a 3.5mm headphone jack. Sportsband will switch to apt-X mode automatically.

So what should I purchase?

Which music devices come with apt-X?

Apple's new Mac Mini is the first to carry apt-X and therefore, does not require a JayBird Bluetooth adapter to play in apt-X quality to the Sportsband Bluetooth headphones. apt-X is built right into both devices so Sportsband will switch to apt-X mode automatically. More phones and other devices to carry apt-X in the coming months.

So now you know

Now you know all about Bluetooth and apt-X.
