The BlueBuds X are almost perfect. The portability, sound quality, functionality, and build quality are top notch. I use them every day almost everywhere I go, and I have over 10 pairs of various headphones and buds to pick from. They’re my go-to buds, bar none. They’re comfortable and almost disappear, meaning you don’t notice having them on, which is exactly what I look for in portable audio. There’s nothing like a pair of Jaybird BlueBuds Xearbuds to help you crank your Lady Gaga or relax to your jazz as you race through your day. These may not be the most stylish-looking earbuds on the market, being that they are made from plastic and rubber, but they are pretty distinctive. The BlueBuds X have a very unique look. First they are actually wireless, using Bluetooth, so the only wire is the one between the pair of earbuds. Also, they come with ‘wings’ to help you keep the buds in your ear. Several different sizes of tips were included, and after some experimenting, the results were great. I find these already give a solid fit and block out sound, but the added wing that you hook into the grooves of your ear is just the extra security you want for headphones that are not attached to anything else. Ooh, boy, do I have a cool, new product to tell you guys about. I was recently sent a pair of BlueBud X Bluetooth Headphones to review and they are, simply put, awesome.
New gadgets typically hate me, so I was psyched that the BlueBuds were so easy to set up. I listen to Pandora on my iPhone when I workout or take Murphy for walks, so I was pleasantly surprised that connecting the BlueBuds to the Bluetooth on my phone was such a piece of cake. On my iPhone, all I had to do was turn on the Bluetooth (in Settings) and then press a button on the headphones to connect. (more…)

Flying sounds fun, being faster than a speeding bullet would be great and even the thought of being invisible strikes my fancy. Sure, we’d like to think the future holds a scientific key to bringing us these abilities but we don’t know when or how.
What if we didn’t have to wait? What if we could actually make use of our dreams while we sleep? This sounds like an extra-terrestrial theory, perhaps too good to be true, yet Remee has done it, and now you can control your dreams using an REM enhancing sleeping mask.

Aerofex Hover Bike

No, it’s not some top-secret US Area 51 project in conjunction with Darth Vader. No, that’s not a storm trooper racing 4m above the Mojave Desert in pursuit of dastardly rebels, but it is exciting.
A California based engineering firm has created a proof-of-concept hover-bike that is as finely tuned to the balance and movements of its rider as its traditional two-wheeled cousins. Two ducted fans take the place of wheels. And the styling has nothing on the superbikes on our roads. However, this nimble craft puts true meaning to the phrase of “all-terrain vehicle”.
It has already had manned flights of up to 15ft at 50km/h, weaving through trees, buildings and under bridges. And these Mojave Desert test flights have been dominated by caution – not exploring the true limits of its capabilities. The hover-bike concept is not new. It was tested – and abandoned – in the 1960s. The apparently insurmountable problem was stability and control. The craft would rollover and crash all too frequently. New, intuitive controls promise to make the craft so easy to fly that anybody can take the seat without pilot training.
The trick as applied by Aerofex is to mimic the movements and balance of riding a motorcycle or pushbike. Two control bars have been put at knee level. As the rider leans one way or the other, the hover-bike responds – producing a natural sense of balance feedback. ”Since balancing movements are instinctive and constant, it plays out quite effortlessly,” Mark De Roche, an aerospace engineer and founder of Aerofex, told Innovation News Daily. A second, more advanced, test craft is due to be ready to fly in October.
Don’t expect to be able to dodge toll roads, traffic snarls and then park on the office roof any time soon. The company sees the craft as a test bed for future unmanned drones. Aerofex sees them being used for battlefield medical evacuation, search and rescue and general work-horse roles.
The unmanned drone version is due to be ready by the end of next year.

Apple to Unveil “Revolutionary” Product this Year

Apple will give birth to a “revolutionary” new product in just eight months, according to a well-known French designer.
Speaking with French radio and French newspaper Le Figaro, French designer Philippe Starck is claiming that he’s teamed up with the company to cook up a new product, the results of which will surface by year’s end.
As reported by blogging site Hardmac, Starck seems to have dangled just enough bait to arouse interest but was mum on specific details, citing Apple’s “religious cult of secrecy,” according to the English translation.
But he did reveal that he met in California with the late Steve Jobs once a month for seven years and that he continues to travel there to see Jobs’ widow Laurene Powell.
One obvious candidate for this revolutionary product is the much-rumored Apple television, which some analysts say could launch this year. But Hardmac speculated that it might be the remote control that would power the TV, citing this as an area where Starck and his team could contribute their design expertise. (more…)

Sony is hoping you’ll kick off the New Year by picking up a 16GB or 32GB Tablet S device priced as low as $400 — $100 cheaper than the device’s original pricing. The new price tag also brings Sony’s Android 3.1 Honeycomb-based tablet $100 below the cost of competing iPad 2 models, which are priced at $500 (16GB) and $600 (32GB). Sony’s latest price drop follows a $50 price cut during the holiday season, but this drop appears to be permanent.
Sony’s price cut may be just the latest sign of how tablet makers are finding it difficult to compete with the iPad. Apple’s slate currently owns more than 61 percent of the tablet market worldwide, according to the latest numbers from market research firm IDC (which shares a parent company with PCWorld). (more…)
