Cellular phones have brought with them a whole array of different and new technologies that have been making life easier. One of these inventions that came along with cellular phones – even it if it was not originally meant for cellular phones – was Bluetooth technology. By now most people have heard of this new method of networking and sharing information and if they have not used it themselves then they know someone who does or at least they are aware that it exists. Most new cellular phones that come out on the market today are Bluetooth compatible so that they can be used together with a Bluetooth wireless headset.

But a Bluetooth wireless headset is not the only use that this new exciting technology can offer to people all around the world. Keeping up with the Bluetooth uses of computers for the moment, it should be mentioned that a Bluetooth wireless headset could even be used with a computer that has a Bluetooth adaptor. All that is required is the appropriate programs and drivers and the same headset can be used with a computer. The real power of Bluetooth with computers, however, is the ability to create wireless networks that can extend across an entire house or office. The range for most Bluetooth devices can be as far as one hundred meters or more (about 110 yards). While the speed of data transfer may not be as high as that of standard wired networks at the moment, in places where wired networks are impractical or impossible, Bluetooth can be a lifesaver.

There are lots of different Bluetooth wireless headsets available on the market and cellular phone manufacturers make them for their brand of phones. There are some manufacturers of headsets, like Jaybird, that make headsets that will work with any phone – no matter the model. Not only are these headsets usually cheaper than the brand name headsets, but they also come with more options and in a wider variety of styles and shapes.

Bluetooth has changed the way that people use cellular phones. Simple things like Bluetooth wireless headsets make speaking on the phone while in the car easier and simpler. Without all the wires around you, a person is not as constricted. Just remember that the Bluetooth technology is not limited to phones but has a whole different variety of possibilities in various situations.
